Stellar Dynamical Modeling - Counting Conserved Quantities

چکیده

Knowing the conserved quantities that a galaxy's stellar orbits conform to is important in helping us understand distribution and structures within galaxy. Isolating integrals of motion resonances are particularly important, non-isolating less so. We compare behavior results two methods for counting number quantities, one based on correlation integral approach other more recent method using machine learning. Both use orbit trajectories phase space as their only input, we create such from theoretical spherical, axisymmetric triaxial model galaxies. The have known isolating resonances. find neither fully effective recovering numbers these nor determining integrals. From computer performance perspective, be faster. Determining algebraic formulae (multiple) has not been possible due lack an appropriate symbolic regression capability. Notwithstanding shortcomings noted, it may usable part trajectory analysis tool kit.

Non-Noether symmetries and conserved quantities of nonconservative dynamical systems

This Letter focuses on studying non-Noether symmetries and conserved quantities of the nonconservative dynamical system. Based on the relationships among motion, nonconservative forces and Lagrangian, we present conservation laws on non-Noether symmetries for nonconservative dynamical systems. A criterion is obtained on which non-Noether symmetry leads to Noether symmetry in nonconservative sys...

Dynamical Modeling of the Stellar Nucleus of M 31

We present stellar dynamical models of the lopsided, double–peaked nucleus of M31, derived from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) photometry. A Schwarzschild–type method, in conjunction with Richardson–Lucy deconvolution, was employed to construct steadily rotating, hot, stellar disks. The stars orbit a massive dark object, on prograde and retrograde quasi–periodic loop orbits. Our results support T...

Conserved non-linear quantities in cosmology

We give a detailed and improved presentation of our recently proposed formalism for non-linear perturbations in cosmology, based on a covariant and fully non-perturbative approach. We work, in particular, with a covector combining the gradients of the energy density and of the local number of e-folds to obtain a non-linear generalization of the familiar linear uniform density perturbation. We s...

Extended Camassa-Holm Hierarchy and Conserved Quantities

An extension of the Camassa-Holm hierarchy is constructed in this letter. The conserved quantities of the hierarchy are studied and a recurrent formula for the integrals of motion is derived. PACS: 02.30.Ik; 05.45.Yv; 45.20.Jj; 02.30.Jr.

Conserved Quantities in Background Independent Theories

We discuss the difficulties that background independent theories based on quantum geometry encounter in deriving general relativity as the low energy limit. We follow a geometrogenesis scenario of a phase transition from a pre-geometric theory to a geometric phase which suggests that a first step towards the low energy limit is searching for the effective collective excitations that will charac...
